This is the Pollak 6-Pole, Round Pin Trailer Wiring Connector. Now, to help us with our review, we're also going to install it on part number DW04906-1 from Deka. This is our Jacketed 6-Wire. All right, this is our 6-Pole Connector. Got a dye-cast body and on the end here is ABS with brass inserts. Pretty simple. It's been around for a very long time. Let's go ahead and take it apart. When we do, we want to make sure that our clamp is opened up completely so we can eventually run our cable through. We'll go to the other side and go ahead a remove the screw that holds the plastic insert in place. Definitely want to keep this screw in a safe place until you're ready to re-install it. Trust me, I've lost a lot of these. Go ahead and pull it apart and see your terminals on the inside. Then the wires are held in place by small set screws that also use a Philips screwdriver. Let's take a look on the inside edge here, you can see the labels are just letters. See G for ground. You should also see a T for a running light circuit, L for left turn, and a R for right turn. The last 2 will S. Typically that's used for brakes or it could be used for a 12-volt power supply to your trailer. Same thing for A, brakes or a 12-volt power supply. Also it depends on how your trailer's manufactured. The hot lead or the brake lead could be interchanged. It happens quite frequently. Let's go ahead and run our cable through our housing and we actually have our wires already stripped and ready to go. First, let's go ahead and start with the center one. I typically like to use that for my 12-volt power supply, so we're going to use our red wire on our cable for that. We'll go ahead and, it's a good idea make sure the strands of wire are twisted tight, we'll go ahead and run it into place and then tighten up the set screw. You want this nice and snug. You dont want to crush it. All right, let's go ahead and do our ground. Let's go ahead and work our way around. Next one will be L, for our left turn. We'll go ahead and run our yellow wire to that. Our green wire will go to the pin labeled R for right turn. The next one's labeled S and I like to use that for the brake signal going out to our trailer, so on a cable I like to use black. Of course, the last one will be labeled T and that will be our running light circuit. You can think of it as trailer marker lights. Make sure nothing's touching, then we can go ahead and slide our cover back into place. Bring the screw back from its safe place that you remember put it to, right Then we can go ahead and tighten down our clamp for our cable. Again, this just needs to be snug. You dont want to crush the cable. Okay, now with our 2 pieces joined together, now would be a good time to add this to a trailer.
